Mindanao Consortia Set to Establish Their Research Registries

The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) held a series of Health Research and Development Information Network (HERDIN) training in Regions 10 and 11 last October 2009.

The training aims to capacitate health research institutions to organize their health research information and to institutionalize the updating of the national health research information repository.

From October 6-9, the HERDIN team of PCHRD trained participants from Region 11 at the Davao Medical School Foundation, Davao City. Institutions represented in the said training were San Pedro College, Ateneo de Davao University, Davao Doctor's College, University of Immaculate Conception, University of the Philippines Mindanao, Davao Medical School Foundation, and Brokenshire College.

Same training was held last October 20-23 at the Liceo de Cagayan University, Cagayan de Oro City. Participants from Region 10 came from Mindanao State University, Central Mindanao University, Capitol University, Liceo de Cagayan University, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, Bukidnon State University, Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Center for Health Development-Department of Health (CHD-DOH 10), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA-10), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST-10).
