The 4th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week celebration served a platform for researchers from the different regions of the country to share the results of their studies to fellow researchers, academicians, representatives from the government and private institutions. Among the studies presented are the following:
1) The Use of Pleural Fluid Cholesterol in Identifying the Type of Pleural Effusion
2) Thermal Effects on the Growth and Survival of Aedes aegypti Pupae under Laboratory Conditions
3) Mapping of Traditional Medicinal Plants in Pugo, La Union
4) Stressors in Residency Training as Barrier to Effective Work Performance of Medical Officers at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center
5)The Mercury-Clearing Effect of Sargassum sp. Seaweed in Mercury-Contaminated Water as measured by Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry
6) Level of Information and Education Campaign on Solid Waste Management and Household Practices on Solid Waste Disposal in Butuan City
7)Occurrence and Antimicrobial Susceptibilities of Pathogenic Vibrios isolated from Green Mussel, Perna viridis L.1758 in Bacoor bay, Cavite
Researchers also outlined their recommendations for further study as well as possible partnerships that can facilitate the translation of the research results into policy or innovations.
"Presentation of Regional Research Projects" is among the five parallel sessions held during the 4th PNHRS Week on 10-11 August 2010, with the theme "Convergence in Divergence: Resource Sharing for More Mileage in Health Research."
