With the theme “Going Global: Increasing International Partnerships in Research and Innovation for Health,” the event will highlight globalization of research and innovation for health and the growing interest for international research collaborations. Likewise, the celebration will serve as a platform for stakeholders to discuss ways to make international research collaborations more effective and efficient through greater cooperation between countries and institutions and pooling of resources.
Expected to grace the event are Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Mario Montejo, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Janette Loreto-Garin, and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chair Patricia Licuanan. Dr. M. Jamal Deen, Royal Society of Canada Academy of Science President, will deliver the keynote address.
Aside from a panel discussion on “International Partnerships: Learnings, Best Practices and the Way Forward,” a signing of memorandum of understanding between DOST and DOH on Health Regulations for Biomedical Devices and Equipment will also be held.
