To strengthen its advocacy for a “Smarter Philippines” in the health sector, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is holding another e-Health Summit for the 2015 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) on 28 July 2015 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
With the theme “Scaling up eHealth Innovations for Inclusive Health,” this year’s eHealth Summit features a panel discussion on the topic “Making eHealth Ubiquitous.”
Among the guest speakers are Dr. Portia Grace Marcelo of the National TeleHealth Center (NTHC), University of the Philippines Manila (UPM), Dir. Crispinita Valdez, Dir. Denis Villorente and Dir. Alvin Marcelo of the eHealth Technical Working Group, and Dr. Iris Thiele Isip-Tan of the #HealthXPH who will talk about “TeleHealth,” “Philippine Health Information Exchange (PHIE),” and “Health Social Media,” respectively.
DOST Secretary Mario Montejo, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Janette Loreto-Garin, Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) Executive Director Jaime Montoya, Health Management Information System PATH Program Officer Caren Althauser and DOH Assistant Secretary Gerardo Bayugo will also grace the event.
The NSTW is an annual event of the DOST to showcase the latest advances and contributions in science and technology (S&T). This year’s celebration will be held from 24-28 July 2015 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. ■
