Also, prior to the research contest was the dissemination forum of the two (2) DOST-PCHRD-R1HRDC funded research projects as follows:
- Cancer Chemopreventive Activity of the Characterized Bioactive Alkaloid Extract from Sorgum Bicolor, Project Leader: Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes
- Anti-Thrombocytopenic Activity of Formulated Papaya (Carica Papaya) and Guava (Psidium Guajava) Capsule on Sprague Dawley (RattusNorvegicus) Rat, Project Leader: Mr. Holden Kirby M. Valdez
Furthermore, there were three (3) parallel sessions conducted during the day, as follows:
- Updates on Data Knowledge and Management, Speaker: Dr. Edelyn A. Cadorna, Unit Research Coordinator - DMNS University of Northern Philippines
- Tips in Writing for Publication in Refereed Journal, Speaker: Dr. Cynthia P. Lopez – Vice President for R&D, Lyceum Northwestern University
- RUC CARE Promoting the Dissemination & Utilization of Research Outputs, Speaker: Dr. Mercita Q. Queddeng – R1HRDC Research Utilization Committee Chair
The event was attended by more than 300 students and professional researchers, member institutions, health practitioners and other stakeholders of R1HRDC.
