The 5th Health Research for Action National Forum Bearing the theme, "Bridging the gap of health inequities through research," the two-day Forum is a venue for research dissemination and utilization, where participants exchange ideas and experiences for better and more responsive policies and evidence-based decisions for the health sector.

Important research results will be presented in two plenary sessions and six parallel technical sessions.Plenary 1 highlights statistics for health development while Plenary 2 tackles social health insurance towards universal healthcare coverage.

Topics for the six technical sessions are as follows:

(1) health care financing and economics;
(2) hospital development and health regulation;
(3) infectious disease prevention and control;
(4) family and environmental health;
(5) local health systems development; and
(6) clinical studies and health technologies.

With this year's theme, "Thinking Global, Thinking Systems in Health: Strengthening Reform Initiatives" the two-day Forum will serve as a venue for research dissemination and utilization, where participants exchange ideas and experiences for better and more responsive policies and evidence-based decisions for the health sector.

Important research results will be presented in three plenary sessions and eight parallel technical sessions. Plenary 1 highlights sector-wide approach for health reforms; Plenary 2 tackles globalization and health service reforms; and Plenary 3 discusses out migration of health professionals.

Topics for the eight technical sessions include

(1) knowledge management for health;
(2) health care financing and economics;
(3) local health systems development;
(4) hospital systems development;
(5) family and environmental health; and
(6) infectious disease prevention and control;
(7) degenerative disease and healthy lifestyle;
