Last November 13-14, 2018, HERDIN on Tour was conducted on four member-institutions in Butuan City; Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT), Butuan Doctors College (BDC) and Caraga State University (CSU). It was attended by institutions’ academe researchers, students and librarians.
On November 15, 2018, personnel from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), namely Ms. Kristine Dominique Zamora, Ms. Jeverly Prinicipe and Ms. Kaye Angela Alondra, introduced and trained the institution’s researchers and consortium secretariat on how to register their health research projects to HERDIN, among other activities.
The consortium participated in the HERDIN training in part of its efforts to help in the cultivation of health research in the Philippines specifically in Caraga region, and to strengthen its collaboration with the PCHRD and with its member - institutions.
The participants already encoded several of their health studies to HERDIN, and more of the member-institutions’ and consortium’s health-related research projects can be expected in the HERDIN database in the months to come.
HERDIN is considered as the national health research repository of the Philippines, providing easy access to more than 50,000 citations and bibliographic information from published and unpublished healh researches in the country.
